Loughborough Vintage Fair

On Saturday 18th February at the Loughborough Town Hall, there was a most wonderous affair aptly named The Loughborough Vintage Fair, and as I missed it last year, I wasn't going to let anything get in the way this year, not even the rain. It did not disappoint. All four walls were filled with rail upon rail of gorgeous vintage clothes, of dresses, blouses, jumpers and so many pairs of vintage denim shorts in varying colours. Amongst all the apparel, there was vintage handbags, shoes, lots of jewellery and a couple of stalls selling pretty vintage cups and saucers and other crockery. It was absolutely packed with people. I managed to escape with just a jumper and a matching teacup, saucer and teaplate which I hope to add to in the future to form my own mismatched vintage teaset. Below are some photos of my buys, as well as some other things I have purchased recently which I love.
My oversized jumper is super snuggly and has this gorgeous silky flower motif on it. It was only £5! My beautiful teacup, saucer and teaplate look so pretty on my kitchen shelves and only cost me £2.99. All bought from The Loughborough Vintage Fair.
This ring from Primark was only £2 and goes perfectly with the sweet vintage patterns and colours that are still big this season. And to pretty up my bedroom, which will be decorated soon, I bought this duvet cover set, also from Primark for £16. It's also available in a single and king size, and I bought complimenting cerise pink pillowcases and a sheet to go with it which were £3 and £6.

Friday busy ness

Yay it's Friday! I always seem to be the most busiest on a Friday, and today is no exception. I was aked on Tuesday if I could attend a ladies evening tonight which I gladly agreed to and have been frantically making more jewellery in preperation. I always worry that I won't have enought to fill a table. So today I've got to buy some more picture frames for my jewellery stands, and make some more price tags. Added to that, I also have a 5 yr boy on half term, and boring non crafty related activities like food shopping and cleaning to do (yawn). So here's to another busy Friday! More crafty reltaed news however, is that I've got lots of new ideas for Princess Pearl which I'm quite excited about, I always like trying new techniques. I'd love to know what you're upto today. What are you working on this weekend? Have you got any designs in the pipeline? Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Steampunk Collection

I've recently fallen in love with a jewellery style known as steampunk. It's a wonderful mixture of victorian science mixed with a touch of romance and the jewellery is both industrial and beautiful. I have taken certain elements for my collection, like the aged antique bronze components, and vintage images. I hope to develop my range of steampunk jewellery, however this is what is available so far.
As you can see, I have tried to incorporate elements of the steampunk genre into my jewellery, but I hope to build on this, and make more intricate pieces. If you would like to buy anything from this range you can head to my facebook page Princess Pearl where I will be glad to help. Thankyou for reading

Valentine's Day

I know there are many people who don't believe in Valentine's Day, who say it is just a money making scheme and that partners should show each other affection every day. However, I do believe in it. Ofcourse it's important to show love, care, and tenderness towards each other every day, but if you have a busy life, which most people do have, it can become quite difficult to put aside the time. So for just one day a year I think it's nice to make that special effort to show that no matter what gets in the way, you're still the pair of lovebirds you always were. So here's my Valentine's Day gallery to give you some inspiration.
Thankyou to everyone who gave me permission to use their lovely items in my Valentines gallery. Hope you have enjoyed browsing, and please support Great British makers by liking their pages :) Thankyou for reading and hope you all have a Happy Valentines Day

Good evening!! Just a lil post to tell you about all the new pieces Ive been making and to show you my beautiful Folksy banner and avatar from Bonnita Graphics. So firstly here are a few of my new pieces that are available from my folksy shop Princess Pearl.

This large crystal teardrop necklace is £10 and uses this beautiful crystal clear faceted crystal pendant which I have accented with a silver bird and a glass pearl. It is available to buy from here.

This necklace is one of my personal faves. Ive used a white enamelled heart locket and added a cute little satin bow and glass pearl. It is only £10 and is available to buy from here.

And finally a couple of pairs of earrings which I love. The first being peach enamelled hearts hung on antique bronze ear wires, available here, and these new earrings which I listed today available from here. All my new items are perfect for the summer, adding a touch of sweet vintage style to any outfit.

And my new banner and avatar fit in with my style perfectly.

It isnt very clear on here, but Bon has added lovely birds and foliage to the very elegant font. I am very happy, and would not hestitate to recommend her. To see more of Bons work click here
